Upcycling our Sunscreen Tube

We partnered up with two green innovators that can help us upcycle empty and cleaned sunscreen tubes. That way, you don’t have to worry about how to dispose of your sunscreen tubes or plastic pollution. Check out their drop-off points and some helpful tips below!

What can I do with my sunscreen tube?

The Plastic Flamingo, aka The Plaf, is a social enterprise that aims to tackle marine plastic pollution by collecting and transforming plastic into eco-lumbers.

See their drop-off points here.

Green Antz Builders, Inc., is a waste management company that upcycles various waste streams into various types of construction materials, infrastructure, and agricultural materials.

How should I drop-off my sunscreen tube?

Clean and your sunscreen tube – Make sure all excess sunscreen has been rinsed off of the packaging. You can cut the tube in half to get rid of all the product.

Dry sunscreen tube – Pat it down with a cloth or leave it out in the sun to dry.

TIP: Got other plastic packaging you want to get rid of? Take them with you when you drop off your sunscreen tube to the nearest Plaf or Green Antz station. Just make sure that everything you donate is clean and dry!
